Greece 2011

We are counting down the days until we depart for Athens, Greece!

This will be our first trip abroad that we've planned and executed on our own, so we are excited to see how it goes. We are pretty much packed, with only a few loose ends to tie up. I am looking forward to sharing our adventures throughout Greece and recording the memories we make.

New GPS!

At a lovely dinner party last night, I was caught off guard when presented with a wonderful gift: an eTrex Venture HC GPS unit! It was given as a memento for moving beyond getting my Master's degree to pursuing a PhD. Not only will it be super handy in the field while doing my PhD research, I am also looking forward to using it for pleasure.

I've decided to give geocashing a try and will, when I can and when I remember, document some of the adventures that this new endeavor brings my way.

For now, I am exploring the geocashing website (geocashing.com, username: TrUUGeoExplorer) and getting my bearings.

I'm off to Iowa for a family gathering this coming weekend and I hope to use it as a trial run!
